Have you heard the tale that eating carrots improves your eyesight? I know this sounds like an old wives tale, but is there any truth to it? According to our Nutrition Advisory Board Member, Don Tolman, there is a connection between eating carrots and maintaining good eyesight.
Medical experts now know that it is the vitamin A within carrots that can improve your vision. Vitamin A is essential for good eye sight. If your diet is lacking in vitamin A, the outer segments of the eye’s photoreceptors may start to malfunction, and your vision becomes a problem. Making sure your diet includes the right amount of vitamin A will help keep your vision clear and focused.
