POWER 2 CERTIFICATION
The ability to hit the ball far is one of the most potent and coveted competitive advantages in golf. In all of our years working with golfers, we’ve never met one who asked for help hitting it shorter. Whether grooming a golfer for a professional tour or their weekend game, helping them swing faster and hit the ball further is one of the easiest ways to improve their scoring potential. Fortunately, there isn’t a secret to distance, there’s a science to distance.
In Power Level 2, you will learn how to maximize distance by optimizing a golfer’s technique, training and equipment. Through decades of experience coaching and studying the biggest hitters in golf, we’ve developed a curriculum which covers the science of power, how to screen an athlete for power potential, training techniques for power and club fitting for power.
We believe that speed is a skill, just like putting or wedge play. By understanding, implementing and practicing key fundamentals, you can help a golfer maximize their distance and enjoyment of the game while establishing yourself as an expert in the field.

Whether coaching, training, or treating rotational athletes, understanding the fundamentals of working with power athletes is one of the most important things you can do for the success of your golf performance business, and your clients.
The Science of Power:
Learn the science of motor unit recruitment, muscle physiology, training philosophy and ball flight laws - the foundation for coaching or training a power athlete.
Screening for Power:
Do you know how to determine your athlete’s potential or what they need to work on to increase power? The TPI Level 1 screen tells you how a golfer moves, the TPI power screen will show you the size of their engine.
Swing Techniques for Power:
Some of most popular modern swing techniques prioritize stability over speed, essentially coaching power out of a golfer. Learn what the longest hitters in golf do to create speed and how you can implement these same techniques with your client.
The Science of Ground Reaction Forces:
Pushing powerfully - and efficiently - against the ground is critical for unlocking maximum clubhead speed. We not only discuss the keys to increasing ground reaction forces, but the importance of optimizing the timing, sequence and direction of forces.
Club Fitting for Power:
95% of amateur golfers are using a driver that has NOT been optimized for distance. There is no quicker way to increase a golfer’s distance off the tee than by making sure they are using the right equipment.
Training Techniques for Power:
How an athlete trains is just as important as what they do in their training. Power 2 teaches the most important keys to developing power in the gym, from basic program design to exercise execution.

PurchasePOWER 2 COURSE OVERVIEW
Introduction To TPI’s Power Coaching Class
By looking at the stats of some of the best players in the world, learn why power matters and why the game is demanding more distance everyday.
The Science Of Power
Dr. Rose will discuss the evidence-based factors that help develop power. These factors include the science of motor unit recruitment, muscle fiber types, the potentiation effect and the physics of projectiles.
Clinical Observations for Exercise Physiology of Power
Dr. Andy Galpin joins us to demystify the physiological pillars of power production in golf. From engaging the nervous system to understanding the roles of various muscle fiber types and connective tissues, Dr. Galpin provides essential insights on integrating this knowledge into a training regimen, enabling trainers to target their golfer's power production effectively at the physiological level.
Screening For Power
As with each TPI Certification course, if you don’t assess it’s just a guess. This statement is especially true when it comes to power generation. Learn the TPI power screen, the first step in determining potential physical limitations with you or your client.
Power Swing Techniques
5-time World Long Drive Champion Jason Zuback and Dr. Greg Rose will teach you swing modifications that can be used to generate more clubhead speed. These lower body modifications followed by upper body modifications will challenge your beliefs about how to hit the ball farther.
Club Fitting For Power
Titleist Club Fitter Lucas Bro discusses the latest findings in club fitting considerations that will help you optimize power from an equipment perspective. He will review how fitters incorporate key launch monitor metrics such as ball speed, launch angle, and spin rate, to help golfers find more consistent center-face contact, as well as find opportunities for more power through modifications to their equipment.
Training for Power - The Power Matrix
Students will learn the four main power sources used to generate power in the golf swing: Vertical Thrust, Rotary Power, Chop Power and Wrist Release Power. Next, learn how to incorporate all four of these sources into TPI’s 4X4 Power Matrix, a simple system to help design effective power development training programs.
Science of Ground Reaction Forces
In Level 1 you learn the "what" and "why" a golfer does what they're doing in their swing, but the secret of "how" a golfer does it lies in how they generate force and pressure . Dr. Greg Rose and Dr. Scott Lynn of CSU Fullerton provide an overview of the forces a player generates in the golf swing, and a glimpse at the basic physics behind them. Starting at a fundamental level, Dr. Rose covers the three ground reaction forces and the three primary torques, and the sequential roles they play in the various phases of the most powerful golf swings.
Practical Application of Ground Reaction Forces
Dr. Rose teams up with Dr. Lynn again to apply the science of ground reaction forces into real-world strategies in order to understand when and why a golfer should modify a specific force or a torque. Then, Jason Zuback rejoins us as he reveals how to target and improve these forces and torques by sharing his favorite golf-specific drills.
