Fernando J. Manalac, MD, MMM, FACP, CAQSM, CMQ

Fernando J. Manalac, Jr., M.D., MMM, FACP, CAQSM, CMQ is a fellowship-trained sports medicine physician, board certified in Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and board certified in Medical Quality by the American Board of Medical Quality. Originally from Steubenville, Ohio,
he completed his Bachelor of Science at Robert Morris University while playing football for the Colonials. He went on to complete his Doctorate in Medicine at St. George's University School of Medicine in 2005. Dr. Manalac then went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine, as well as a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. During fellowship, Dr. Manalac was on medical staff with the Pittsburgh Pirates. During that time, he expanded his expertise by completing a Master of Medical Management, with a focus on quality, at Carnegie Mellon University, Heinz School of Policy and Management. Following sports medicine fellowship, worked in Pittsburgh, Chicago and, finally, Fort Lauderdale; where he now serves as the Medical Director of Primary Care Sports Medicine at the Holy Cross Orthopedic Institute, as well as the Head Team Physician of the Fort Lauderdale Strikers FC of the NASL. He also serves as Clinical Director of Non-Operative Sports Medicine GME for the University of Miami at Holy Cross Internal Medicine Program and is a Core Faculty member for the program.

Dr. Manalac has a specific interest in Sports Biometrics/Biomechanics and applies this expertise to preventing injury and improving performance for his patient athletes at every level. He specializes in rotational athletes including golfers, baseball players, and tennis players.
